In an increasingly fast-paced world, where time calls our names to lead or work in a business, care for our family's needs, share meaningful moments with friends, and pursue our passions, Estates member Amber Ramirez hears the whispered tone of her mom encouraging her to give back to others by volunteering. Finding the time to volunteer can be challenging. However, the rewards of giving back to our Ramona community are immense and multifaceted.
Amber Ramirez is involved as a volunteer with several Ramona groups and many events, and is focused on students and schools, many who recently received support and scholarships as the school year ended.
For the past 20 years—15 spent on the Board of Directors—Amber has been part of the Chamber Team that supports and promotes the economic interests of business members and the broader community through its philanthropy. As the owner of Farmers Insurance Ramirez Agency, she finds it rewarding to join with other local businesses to explore opportunities to give back to the community and to grow and find new business solutions during challenging times of change.
The Chamber fundraises to assist our community and supports students with scholarships through a wide variety of popular events and Chamber mixers. “Helping children is an amazing experience, and seeing students graduate and move up is great, so I stepped up to the position of Junior Chamber liaison, collaborating closely with High School Club advisor Deena Vizcarra, and I am the Chamber Scholarship Committee Chair, so we’ve been busy awarding students,” Amber said.
For about five years, she has served on the VFW Scholarship Committee and reviews student art submissions for prizes. In addition, she recently sponsored the FORUS (Friends of Ramona Unified Schools) at San Vicente Golf Resort last week and provides donations to Ramona High School sports as well.
Now that the students are enjoying their summer vacations, Amber and her husband Mitchell, who often volunteers with her, are involved with the Ramona July 4th Family Picnic & Fireworks Show, collecting donations at Albertsons to fund the event presented by the Ramona Kiwanis, Ramona Rotary, and Ramona Chamber of Commerce. The Ramona community funds the entire event, so take the opportunity to donate. Volunteers are also needed for weekend fundraising at Albertsons, Stater Bros and Ransom Bros Ace. There are 2-hour shifts available. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please call the Chamber office at 760-789-1311.

Thank you, Amber.
