Start Strong: New Year Fitness Training for All Levels at ADMA Elite Training

Tiffany Pressler • January 8, 2025

The new year is here, and it's a great time to transform your resolutions into results by focusing on exercises that push your boundaries and build momentum.

Anthony Abbott, a San Diego Country Estates resident for 14 years, established ADMA Elite Training in 2014. ADMA comes from his initials: Anthony David Montijo Abbott. He co-owns the business with his wife, Lindsay, and they are both NASM Certified Personal Trainers.

Abbott started ADMA because he always wanted to be an entrepreneur and pursue his passion. He said he didn't want to live his life in regret and didn't care about failing. He said, "Let's see what happens," and it worked. He wasn't married to Lindsay when he started the business, but she has always been supportive of his dream. A year after opening ADMA, they were married. They now have an 18-month-old daughter, Everly.

Abbott's primary goal is to create functional and effective workout programs for individuals of all ages and fitness levels while making the fitness lifestyle fun and sustainable. He created a unique community of individuals who support, push, encourage, and help each other. They call their clients ADMA family because they are a fitness family.

There are four trainers at the location, and the program is very structured. The trainers greet their clients at the door and know them by name. All the trainers are certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and are active in continuing education programs.

ADMA is not an open gym; their clients come at specific times for classes and sessions with trainers. They offer an in-house boot camp, virtual boot camp, yoga in the house, and personal training. They offer a free 7-day trial boot camp and are currently offering a New Year Client Special for $399 that includes 3 months of unlimited boot camps, two in-body scans, and a meeting with a coach.

Abbott says that the focus of the training depends on the individual. The boot camp training consists of a wide variety of exercises tailored to the individual's goals. He works with clients on personal training and works with athletes; he works with clients looking for weight loss and those who are getting older and want to build strength. He is looking for clients with accountability. He says that sometimes people can get discouraged with their fitness goals and want to give up, but he and his staff are there to cheer their clients on because they don't want them to feel intimidated. "You have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward," Abbott says.

"We keep track of our clients," says Abbott. "If they don't show up, we reach out." He has created an atmosphere where the clients feel welcome, and everyone can work out together. Some fitness enthusiasts modify their workouts, while others can intensify them.

You can step it up or take it down a notch. Abbott encourages water breaks, and they never yell at the clients or look down upon anyone. "I want everyone to feel welcome at my gym," says Abbott. He treats everyone with respect and encourages the clients during their workouts.

ADMA Elite Training is located at 1530 Main Street, Suite 7 and 8. Previously, it was located near the town hall, but they needed a larger space to accommodate their gym. They have been at their current 2500-square-foot location for two years.

Abbott recommends those interested in his fitness program just get started and trust the process. He doesn't sell miracles, but he does sell stability and mentorship. He adds this will not happen overnight; it takes time, but it will start the pattern of making good habits. According to Abbott, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
