San Vicente Couples Golf Tournament: A Super Bowl Celebration on the Greens

Rachel French • February 5, 2025

Thirty-four players participated in the San Vicente Golf Club Super Bowl Couples Tournament on Saturday, January 25, with a 9 am shotgun start. The tournament was hosted by Sharron and Jerry Daniels, who organized a festive and sports-themed event. Many players embraced the theme by wearing football-inspired outfits.

The game format was Two by Two (a scramble format for two-person teams, with each player required to use at least four of their drives). An after-golf social was held in the Par Lounge for a relaxed gathering with a "buy your own" lunch and beverages.

Winners of the tournament were Sharron and Jerry Daniels, as well as Hugh Blackwood and Cathy Knowles.

This Super Bowl themed Couples tournament is the first social event this year, and many more fun events are planned. San Vicente Golf Club Social Chairperson Robyn Bolitho is planning themed tournaments including the Valentine's , St. Patrick's, and a Spring Fling.

Ralph Peebler scored a hole-in-one on Hole 15 and was elated, as this was the first one he had ever made. "I was so thrilled with this, and I also had a lot of fun, too," he said.
