The town’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, presented by the Ramona Chamber of Commerce, will be illuminating the holiday season. Take a stroll down Main Street with your loved ones and bundle up for a festive and joyous evening.
The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting kicks off the holiday season for Ramona on Saturday, December 7, from 5 to 9 pm in Old Town Ramona. A portion of Main Street will be closed for the event. At 7 pm, the town Christmas tree, located at Guy B. Woodward Museum at 645 Main Street, will be illuminated with Santa Claus and his helpers leading the countdown. This free community event will be filled with holiday cheer and fun for the whole family.
Attendees will enjoy live performances throughout the evening by Ramona Julian Academy of Dance, Patrick Howard Trampus Band, Ramona Lutheran School Children’s Choir, Turning Pointe School of Dance, Ramona High School Band, Del Sol Dancers, and Ukuladies.
Cindy Keiser, Social Media Manager for The Ramona Chamber of Commerce, says they have some new vendors this year. “This event gets bigger and better every year! There will be unique craft and delicious food vendors, carolers, dancers, photo opportunities, late-night shopping in nearby stores, and, of course, a visit from Santa!” says Keiser. Her favorite part of the event is the small-town feel of our wonderful community all coming together with Christmas spirit!
More activities include free printed photos with Santa, live animal photo opportunities, Christmas movies in the street, late-night dining, a find-the-elf contest, free crafts for kids, racecar simulators, a classic car display, and many local vendors.
Tim Connelly, honorary town mayor and local photographer, will take a group photo at the tree lighting from a scissor lift this year. In years past, he took group photos from the roof of CC Cycles. “Don’t forget to smile when I say cheese!” says Connelly. His favorite part of the event is seeing everyone having a good time from his perch above the street, and he expects the event attendance to be in the thousands. “The tree lighting is one of the best community events of the year. The town really shows up for this joyous celebration. It feels like you’re part of a Hallmark holiday special.”
As Ramona’s iconic Christmas tree glimmers in the night, it brings our town together, celebrating community, hope, and the enduring spirit of the holidays.
