With Spring in full swing, it’s an excellent time to remind everyone that the Ramona Garden Club is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year. This Saturday, May 4, be sure to stop by Ramona Oaks Park between 10 am and 2 pm to check out an extensive array of plant offerings, including herbal plants, succulents, cacti, staghorn ferns, bulbs, cuttings, native plants and perennials. The event is also conveniently before Mother’s Day, so check out some gifts for the moms in your life while supporting local artisans and growers.
SDCEA member Linda Mulik also wants people to know there is a self-guided Garden Tour of four beautiful Ramona gardens. The tour is from 10 am to 3 pm, with three of the four homes right here in San Diego Country Estates. Tickets for the Garden Tour are $25 and available for purchase at Hummingbird Coffee Hut, located on San Vicente Road, Main Street Coffee in downtown Ramona, or on the Ramona Garden Club website at https://ramonagardenclub.com/.
Proceeds from this event will support the Ramona Garden Club's scholarship fund, which aims to increase annual scholarships from $1000 to $1500 for deserving Ramona graduates. Beyond its annual events, the Ramona Garden Club actively engages in community initiatives, such as partnering with Serve Ramona for the Community Spring Cleanup. This collaboration underscores the club's commitment to enhancing the beauty of Ramona and fostering a sense of civic pride.
With nearly 90 dedicated members and a rich history spanning 21 years, the Ramona Garden Club invites gardening enthusiasts and community members alike to join their vibrant community. Whether attending meetings, enjoying guest speakers, embarking on field trips, or participating in volunteer projects, there's something for everyone to enjoy at the Ramona Garden Club.
