Community Relations: Home Improvement Projects

Josh Jones, Assistant General Manager • December 6, 2024

Home improvement projects happen year-round. Connect with the Community Relations team to process your applications.

It can feel like home maintenance is never-ending, and there is always an exciting new project at the back of your mind. Perhaps you’re looking to repaint the house, put in a new patio bar or add a shed to the garden. Any exterior changes to a property need approval from the Environmental Control Committee (ECC), and the Community Relations Department (CRD) is ready to help with project applications and short-term permits. We love chatting with homeowners and hearing your questions and project ideas.

Architectural Applications

When you’re ready to change your landscaping, add buildings, or make any other changes to your property, CRD is here to help process your application for review and approval by the ECC. All changes require ECC approval before work can begin. Applications are available for download here and can be submitted through your homeowner portal, by emailing CRDdept@sdcea.net, or by delivering to the CRD office at 15910 Avenel Lane. We are happy to discuss the details of your project and plan out a completion timeline.

Permits

If you need a dumpster or to park an RV or trailer for more than 48 hours, let us know the dates, and we can set you up with a permit. Permits are a great way to communicate with the Association and avoid receiving courtesy notices. As a best practice, let us know anytime you have an RV or trailer parked on your lot or the street. Permits can be requested by emailing CRDdept@sdcea.net, calling 760-789-8747, or submitting a request through our website. Though it’s a permit, we don’t place anything on your vehicle.

Member ID Cards

Members can receive new and replacement ID cards from the CRD office at 15910 Avenel Lane, next to the Casey Tibbs Western Center. CRD is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-4 pm. Member ID cards give members of your household access to the community pools at Ramona Oaks Park and the Clubhouse.
