Family-Owned Fruit Stand

Farhat Produce is the fruit stand that pops up on the weekends on San Vicente Road near Wildcat Canyon Road to serve the community fresh produce.

Farhat Produce is owned and operated by Aziz Farhat and his son, Kristian Farhat. Aziz has been selling produce to the Ramona community for over 20 years. He has been at the San Diego Country Estates location for 6 or 7 years and has had fruit stands off Hwy 67, Main Street, and 10th Street. He has lived in Ramona for over 40 years and previously owned the liquor store called Old Time Country Store in Woodward’s shopping center. He sold the business in 1995 or 1996.

Aziz and Kristian are committed to sourcing their produce from local growers in the area, including Fallbrook, Vista, Valley Center, Hemet, Temecula, and Carlsbad. “We try to keep it local,” says Kristian, “whatever we can find.” They want to get the best quality produce—most of it organic—for a fair price for their customers. “We go to all the farms and ranches to find good quality produce,” says Kristian.

They sell a wide variety of produce, including avocados, tomatoes, grapefruit, onions, watermelon, cherries, seedless grapes, cantaloupe, nectarines, peaches, plums, apricots, kiwis, pears, apples, roasted peanuts, red yams, red potatoes, spaghetti squash, sweet potatoes, and raw honey. They have had some of the same customers for years because they know they will get quality produce that tastes great. Customers rave about the quality of fruit at the produce stand. “We find the freshest produce we can,” says Aziz. “And we have very good people.”

Kristian says the best thing about running the produce shop is seeing his customers happy when they see good produce. He likes to see them return to the stand and give positive feedback about the quality of the produce. It makes him happy and motivates the customers to return.

The fruit stand is located at 22589-22665 San Vicente Road. They sell produce at this location from January through August and are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm. They are also open on Monday holidays. They advertise on Next-Door under the name Kristian Rodriguez and only accept payment in cash.

Their strawberries are currently on sale: 3-pack of strawberries for $10 and half-a-flat for $18. So, stop by for some fresh quality produce at a great price.
